Travel Medicine and Vaccines Information:
If you are planning an international trip,
you will need to take specific steps to achieve optimal levels
of protection against vaccine-preventable diseases. You can
visit with one of our health-care providers who can provide
pre-travel country-specific health advice.
Many factors will determine
what immunizations, prescriptions and illness preparation
you will need to consider. Adventurous travelers
that venture out to remote areas of developing countries will
require a more thorough evaluation of needed immunizations
and treatments for preventable diseases, which can require
a series of injections. Recommendations for immunization are
developed by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices
(ACIP), and are published on the internet at www.cdc.gov/travel/.
